What are the prerequisites for Residency Teacher Certificate applicants (Routes 2, 3, and 4)?
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution (official transcript will be required with application)
- Meet the age, good moral character, and professional fitness requirements, as outlined in WAC 181-86-013
- Provide proof of taking basic skills assessment in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics (WEST-B or equivalent alternative)
- Provide proof of taking subject matter assessment in desired endorsement area (WEST-E or NES test)
